On April 11th 2019, the AZL invites interested companies to join the AZL Open Day and take part in nine guided tours to the lightweight institutes of the RWTH Aachen Campus, which present their technologies and equipment along the entire value chain. Interested participants will have the possibility to see the machinery halls of the institutes and the Production Engineering Cluster, where AZL provides large-scale equipment and co-working spaces for partner companies. Conbility GmbH (Aachen, Germany) has announced that its PrePro 3D tape placement and winding applicator has been installed at the Technology Center AIMEN (O Porriño, Spain). The modular tape placement applicator was delivered in Oct. 2018. Please find the entire press release here. In the latest edition of the AZL NewsLIGHT, we are reporting about the first steps of our new studies - "Thermoplastic Tapes for SME Injection Molders" and "Composites in the Furniture Industry”. We are also looking forward to a successful follow-up project of Ultra-Fast Manufacturing of Tailored Composite Blanks. Another Highlight will be the next Workgroup Meeting for “Composites in Buildings & Infrastructure” which will be a two-day event in Munich at the BAU 2019, world’s leading trade fair for architecture materials and system.
